Camp Arrah Wanna is a ministry that depends on the time, resources and donations of our loyal supporters. Without people like our weekly volunteers, counselors, program directors and staff, we would not be able to serve the people that we do every day. Pool Bathhouse Project
Camp Arrah Wanna started dreaming and planning for the pool bathhouse as soon as the pool was built in 2007. Because of numerous factors, many out of our control, the plans were not approved until this past summer. As a result of the time delay plus unforeseen code requirements, a project that was originally estimated to cost around $130,000 is now projected to finish at $250,000. With generous gifts from supporters, and a grant from the Murdock Trust, we have about 40% of that money currently available to us. The current funding of 40% has allowed us to begin construction.
This means we need to raise around $140,000 as soon as possible, in order to move
forward and complete this project by mid-June. If you have ever used the Worship
Center, gym or new swimming pool, you know that the closest bathroom facilities are the two outhouses stationed nearby. While this alternative meets our basic needs, it is less than desirable. We also know that the lack of showering and restroom facilities nearby make it difficult for many of our less-mobile guests to use the pool as much as they would like to. Soraci Designs, LLC has also included additional future improvements in the area including a new covered walkway on the Worship Center and an outdoor pavilion. These amenities tie the area together and provide a real sense of place for people to gather and enjoy the camp grounds and mission to its full potential.
If you are able to make a donation to this project, or a pledge to be paid between
now and May, please lets us know. God has always provided for the many needs of
this ministry, and we know this project is no exception. When we consider the amazing improvements to this property over the past 10 years, this goal seems more than attainable. But we won’t accomplish it without support from the very people who have faithfully carried this ministry forward previously.
